Through our Social Digital Lab, and via ACCIÓ, we launched an open call to identify innovative, ethical and scalable solutions to improve home and community care services.
At the Mobile World Congress 2026, within the 4YFN space, we presented this artificial intelligence innovation challenge aimed at addressing some of the key challenges currently facing the care sector. The initiative, published on the ACCIÓ platform, sought to identify practical and impactful solutions, always grounded in privacy, ethics and support for professional decision-making.
At Suara Cooperativa, we support nearly 150,000 people with a team of more than 5,800 professionals. In a context marked by an ageing population and increasingly complex needs, we are working to incorporate tools that help improve service efficiency while maintaining what matters most: personalisation, continuity, and quality of care.
“We need technology that helps us care better and reach people sooner: ethical and useful AI at the service of both individuals and care professionals,” said Jordi Picas, Director of Innovation at Suara Cooperativa.
During the congress, we held meetings with more than 15 organisations that had submitted proposals to the challenge, mainly from Catalonia, but also from across Spain and internationally. These meetings allowed us to explore different solutions, share real sector needs and begin identifying potential pilot projects in real environments.
“The MWC is an opportunity to connect with cutting-edge solutions and accelerate pilots with real impact on day-to-day care,” said Bàrbara Outerio, Head of Open Innovation at Suara Cooperativa.
The challenge focused on three priority areas. First, smart planning of home care services (SAD) to improve coverage, substitutions and resource allocation. Second, identifying well-being indicators in community settings through voice or image analysis, building on the experience of Casal TV. And third, developing a highly accessible digital avatar, with functional integration with Google Meet, designed to support activities and reduce digital barriers for older people.
This initiative is part of our commitment to driving innovation in real-life environments. In this context, Casal TV is a strong example of how technology can create positive impact when designed around people’s needs. Launched in 2024, the project is already showing significant results in well-being, daily routines, and reducing unwanted loneliness.
Through our participation in the MWC, we reaffirm our commitment to social and technological innovation that puts people at the centre and helps move towards a more accessible, efficient, and person-centred care model.
