As part of the visit, the councilor was able to learn first-hand the positive impacts that the implementation of transformation projects in the care sector have had for the people in care, workers and carers, as well as for society in general.
The Minister of Business and Work, Roger Torrent, visited this Friday the various technological and digital transformation projects developed by Suara Cooperativa with the grant of the Project Singulars awarded by his department through the general direction of the Social Economy.
The aim of this subsidy is to provide resources to cooperatives and companies in the social economy so that they open new lines of business, markets and projects with which to generate quality employment and activities that benefit the Catalan economic and social fabric.
Within the framework of this grant, Suara Cooperativa has been able to implement in the last three years (2021, 2022 and 2023) different projects, all of them with a common denominator: applying innovation and technology to social transformation in order to improve the life of the elderly and their caring environment.
"This grant has allowed us to accelerate the search for answers and innovative technological solutions to the cooperative's social challenges in aging, transforming our model of care for people," says Àngels Cobo, director of digital transformation.
During the visit to the offices of Suara Cooperativa in Barcelona, which lasted around two hours, councilor Torrent was able to listen to the people who lead these projects based on social innovation; as well as people served who have tried these new technological tools. In addition, he has also been able to check and experience first-hand how some of these digital and technological transformation solutions work.
One of the values that guide the action of Suara Cooperativa is the commitment to innovation, which is why it is constantly searching for innovative solutions to be able to respond to the different social challenges found in the day-to-day services working and assisted people.
In this context, the Singulars project has made it possible to develop solutions to different challenges that had been detected in the care sector for both the people being cared for and the carers, whether they are professionals or family members.
