Last Tuesday, the directions of the Suara's nursery schools met at the Escola Bressol El Petit Comte, Kicking off a pilot for the implementation of the protection and good treatment policy in children and Adolescence in our schools.

Objectives of the pilot

Colider by Marta Gómez and M. Àngels Domènech, this pilot aims to test the actual application of our policy in services, as well as evaluate its compatibility with other procedures that the administration has already begun to deploy. In the specific case of kindergartens, the Department of Education has included in its organizational documents the requirements of the LOPIVI. Our task is to make sure that we meet these requirements, while also meeting the needs of a large and diverse organization.

Diagnosis and reflection

During this first session, we reviewed the regulatory requirements that underpin policy. The aim was to make a diagnosis to know the starting point of each center. Once this analysis was done, we worked in groups to reflect and share ideas on the deployment of the referent figure of protection in the services. This figure is comparable to COCOBE (Coordinator of Coexistence and Welfare) that the Department of Education asks all Catalan schools, as well as the Welfare Coordinator required by the LOPIVI.

Next steps

The meeting concluded with a sharing on the understanding of this figure and how we can incorporate it into the different schools, taking into account the various characteristics and realities of each of them.

"From the proposals and reflections collected, during the coming weeks a roadmap will be designed that will mark the continuity of the pilot. The aim is to guarantee a safe environment for children and to constantly review our practices to foster their well-being", says Marta Gómez.

"From kindergartens, we value this meeting very positively and the opportunity to share and reflect together,” concludes M. Àngels Domènech.
