UPC (IRI) organized an institutional visit to South Korea with the aim of boosting cooperation in research, innovation, and knowledge transfer in the fields of assistive robotics and active ageing, within the LABORA program.
The agenda, held from October 20 to 22, included the participation of Jordi Picas, Director of Innovation at Suara Cooperativa, who shared his experience and vision on social innovation, care for people, and public-community collaboration models.
Over three days, the delegation visited several leading institutions and companies in the sector, including:
- Robocare, a leading company in personal assistive robotics solutions.
- National Rehabilitation Center, where initiatives from the Korean and Catalan/Spanish governments were exchanged in the field of rehabilitation technology.
- KB Golden Life Care and Wonderful Platform, benchmarks in services and platforms for older adults.
- NTRobot, specialized in social robotics.
- AgeTech Trial Center and Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital, dedicated to research in gerontology and innovation in digital health.
This visit is part of UPC (IRI)’s internationalization strategy within the LABORA program, which aims to strengthen global alliances and explore new opportunities for collaboration in technological and social innovation.
