The Barcelona Cooperative Society has brought together around sixty people from the business sector and the academic world of technological interests to develop its model of innovation, which has made a comeback on behalf of ACCIÓ in Catalonia. This distinction certifies that Suara Cooperativa is one of the 10 leading companies in disruptive innovation for this year 2024 and that has obtained thanks to the work of the Social Digital Lab, its social innovation laboratory.
The event, organized by ACCIÓ, the agency for the competitiveness of companies of the Generalitat of Catalonia, aims to donate to conèixer the companies guanyadores d'aquest reconeixement and facilitate the exchange of coneixement. Now, Suara is the only company with a cooperative model that has made this distinction.
Among Suara's cooperative values is a commitment to innovation and also a work methodology based on intercooperation, in which it collaborates with other organizations to link responses to the main social networks. Values that are also inherent in the Social Digital Lab, explained the co-director general of Suara Cooperativa, Tomàs Llompart, during the official welcome at the event.
Mireia Fageda, Senior Consultant for Disruption and International Connection at ACCIÓ, explained that Suara's work is fundamental because it implements innovation for social transformation, an area that has been practically unexplored. She also pointed out that, thanks to its cooperative model, it has a way of working that collaborates and inter-cooperates to be able to carry out its projects, so that knowledge does not remain only in the organization, which transfers it further.
In addition to the Catalonia Exponential Leader certification, ACCIÓ will reward the quadruple helix work methodology of the Social Digital Lab, which follows the model of European laboratories. This consists of generating co-creation spaces, in which companies and technological startups, the university community, research institutes, public administration and citizens jointly design, develop and implement technological solutions to the main existing social networks.

After the official welcome, the assistants have been able to connect in small groups the different social innovation projects of Suara Cooperativa with, for example, the two assistance robotics projects, financed by the Singulars subsidy of the Directorate of Economics of the Department of Business and Labor.

Projects that do not meet the needs identified by the workers of Suara
In the majority of these cases, the projects have begun to detect the needs of the citizens in the services managed by Suara; But the assistants have also seen other projects that they carry out through the active escort of the workers.
One of these is Benestarum, an online global wellness platform where workers can attend individual sessions with experts. This will be created during the pandemic to offer psychological and physiotherapeutic support to workers. Based on the benefits it brings, Suara has exported the platform to other companies. Another example is the Suara Campus.
