This action is part of a series of measures that have been carried out in this service with EU-Next GenerationEU funds, to guarantee the modernization and ecological and digital transformation of the space.

The Terres de l'Ebre Reception Center has been equipped with a digitalized system of sensors and automated door opening, as well as software for monitoring and controlling spaces and accesses, which will allow people who access the space to be supervised more effectively.

This measure, which was carried out in 2024 with the European Union Next Generation Fund (EU-NextGenerationEU Fund), will improve the safety of children, adolescents and young people who reside there, while workers will be able to manage the space more efficiently to avoid intrusion or risk situations.

This is not the only initiative that has been carried out with this subsidy in 2024, but several actions and reforms have also been developed with the aim that this 2025 the CATE can be expanded so that it can accommodate ten more people. Among these are: reforms to the farm, removing material and rubble, covering large holes with gravel, as well as the geotechnical study or topographical survey.

The improvements carried out in this center in 2024, which aim to modernize and adapt the space, are part of a set of different actions that began to be implemented in 2022 with the EU-NextGenerationEU Fund.

In this context, in 2022, different improvement works were carried out in the CATE, while different digital equipment such as computers, webcams or headphones were acquired. In the case of 2023, among other actions, up to 34 photovoltaic panels were installed on the roof to improve its energy efficiency.
