The 2023 financial year of Suara Cooperativa closed with positive results, thanks to the increase in activity that has also resulted in an increase in business volume and equity.

This is clear from the accounts presented and approved at the Ordinary Assembly of the organization this past Saturday, which had a high participation of 80% of the members.

In this context, Suara Cooperativa has registered an operating income of 133.3 million euros in 2023, which represents a growth of 11.3% compared to the previous year. On the other hand, Suara's integrated social value in 2023 was 282.9 million euros, a growth of 23.7% compared to 2022. This social value is calculated taking into account factors such as quality improvement of life of the people served, the generation of employment, professional development and innovation, among others.

Suara's growth has allowed it to expand its territorial presence with activities in 24 Catalan counties in addition to the Balearic Islands, Castile-and-Leon, Navarra, La Rioja, Cantabria, Asturias, Galicia, Madrid and also in Chile.

Women represent 85% of Suara's total members and hold 8 of the 9 seats on the Board of Directors

In a country where female managers are still in the clear minority, Suara Cooperativa is a clear exception. A good example of this is that this Saturday one of the key points of the assembly was the election of four members of the Governing Council, of which three of those elected were women. With this, women are the vast majority in the Governing Council, where they hold eight of the new existing positions.

In the case of the Strategic Management Board, women hold 78% of the positions. This representation in the management bodies is a logical consequence of the composition of the Assembly, since 85% of the members are women. It should be noted that 2023 closed with 1,574 members, 10.5% more than in 2022. So far this year, this number has risen to 1,673 members.

On the other hand, women represent 89% of the 5,322 working people, both partners and not. The number of people hired has increased by 6.5% in 2023 compared to 2022 (4,979 workers). In the case of 2023, 70.1% are on indefinite contracts, while 28.7% are active partners. The average age of people working in Suara is 44.5 years.

Suara Cooperativa's commitment to working people results, for example, in an intense training task that exceeded 71,000 hours in 2023, 8% more than in 2022. Apart from promoting training, Suara ensures the health of women workers in a comprehensive and holistic way, we take into account the psychological, emotional, physical, nutritional and financial aspects, among others with initiatives such as the Benestarum platform or the Protocol against violence against women.

On the other hand, the number of people accompanied this 2023 by Suara Cooperativa has increased by 18% compared to 2022 and has reached 49,282 people assisted, of which 53% are women.

A determined commitment to innovation

The year 2023 has meant the launch of initiatives such as the portal of the Aliura department, the first and only one in all of Catalonia dedicated to this theme. The portal offers resources both for dependent people and their relatives. Aliura has the support of the Department of Business and Labor of the Generalitat of Catalonia through the Singulars Project, which aims to generate employment, and with funding from the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy.

The Social Digital Lab has also been inaugurated, Suara's innovation space and model that allows the transformation of care services for people to prepare them for the challenges of the present and the future. This laboratory of social innovation will gradually transform the way people are supported. The social innovation laboratory uses technologies such as robotics, sensors, virtual and immersive reality, as well as artificial intelligence to improve the support of people in all walks of life.
