The Amposta auditorium welcomed almost 200 people to the presentation of territorial scope in Terres de l'Ebre.
The event last Friday, September 13, was led by the mayor of the Amposta City Council, Adam Tomàs, and the director of the Territorial Services of the Lands of the Ebro of the Social Rights and Inclusion Department, Juan Manuel jaramillo Next, the Barnahus Integrated Units (UIB) project coordinated by the Barnahus strategy technicians was presented. This was followed by the presentation of the Integrated Care Unit for Children and Adolescent Victims of Sexual Abuse - Barnahus Tortosa, managed by Suara Cooperativa.
Patrícia Benet, coordinator of the Barnahus-Tortosa, presented the equipment that has already given care to 64 boys and girls from all over the Terres de l'Ebre. He showed all the facilities and rooms of the house - recognized as an example of a safe and welcoming space - which provides the warm experience of "being at home" that is sought to prevent the revictimization of children. At the same time, he detailed the functionality and specificity of each of the spaces, also highlighting their location and accessible environment. He then mentioned the fixed psychosocial team made up of Suara Cooperativa professionals. At this point, the psychologist, Maria del Mar Trenas and the social worker, Marta Puig explained the functions and methodological tools of accompaniment, repair and recovery of children and/or adolescents who are victims of ASI and their relatives/guardians or guardians . In addition, the coordinator thanked the interest and attendance at the event, and remarked that "each and every one of the attendees are key pieces in the strategy of detection, referral, prevention and support for children, adolescents and their families".
Regarding innovations and improvements, Suara professionals proposed the reinforcement of psychological therapies with canine therapy, the use of immersive reality and art therapy. In particular, the therapeutic space was named, which could provide continuity to post-intervention care at the Barnahus UI, guaranteeing methodologies aligned with the strategy in cases of complex trauma.
Regarding the prevention of abuse and sexual education, the facility has given advice and training to professionals and families, in collaboration with Dr. Gellida, UIB pediatrician. Currently, we are working on the preparation of materials and analyzing possible target populations to prioritize.
Finally, the case management process was explained. From the entry to the closing of the case and the interdepartmental coordination in order to guarantee quality care. A strategy that allows professionals to work under the same roof, in order to transcend the coordination paradigm and achieve an integration of perspectives and skills that will work as a single team in a physical space and in an integrated manner.
Finally, an exhibition of the functions of each of the departments that are part of UIB Tortosa was carried out: Social Rights and Inclusion, Interior and Public Security, Justice and Democratic Quality, Health, Education and Vocational Training, Equality and Feminism .
Lastly, Ms. Mariola Arques Rovira, head of Minors' Care in Terres de l'Ebre of the DGAIA, closed the event.
