Suara Cooperativa participates in the FàácilMent initiative. Promoted by the TEB Cooperative Group, it has a dual purpose. On the one hand, it is a tool that aims to help companies and administrations to communicate more clearly and be accessible to people with disabilities, the elderly and other groups with reading comprehension difficulties.
On the other hand, it constitutes the first clear and easy communication service that generates employment for people with intellectual disabilities, because it will be this group that will validate the adaptations of writing in easy language and that, thanks to this task, will access a job.
In a first phase of content creation, Suara will be the entity responsible for the adaptation of agreements, while Suara Inserció will carry out the translation of documents regarding mandatory occupational risks. Everything will be validated in a second phase of the project by people with intellectual disabilities.
"Such an important challenge can only be achieved with cooperation and diversity", explains Pepa Muñoz, representative of Grup Cooperatiu TEB. And he continues: "For this reason, FàcilMent includes a wide range of cooperatives that work to transform their environment from different areas and sharing, of course, the values and principles of participation, self-management, mutual support and interest in the community".
Statements about which Àngels Cobo, Suara's Director of Digital Transformation, adds: "This project is a clear commitment for Suara, in our commitment to guarantee the rights and inclusion in society of people in vulnerable situations. Facilitating access to information for people with reading comprehension difficulties is a pending subject for companies and administrations and, in this sense, it is key to have a tool like FàcilMent that opens the door to information for people with intellectual disabilities, at the same time that it turns them into protagonists as validators of the adaptation of the documents".
A solution for the deployment of the Universal Accessibility Law
The comprehensive FàcilMent service constitutes a solution to develop cognitive accessibility, one of the aspects necessary for the deployment of the Universal Accessibility Law. Understanding the world around us is key to promoting the participation of all citizens in political, economic, cultural and social life.
The service will make it possible to make available to citizens easy-to-read documents that refer to labor and cooperative rights, and guides that improve job placement, understanding of ethical banking or that offer tools to the public administration to communicate I know better with citizenship.
In the field of culture, editorial novelties will be adapted for easy reading. Finally, work will also be done to bring current information to citizens through an easy-to-read blog.
FàcilMent is a beneficiary of the grants Singular Projects for the generation of employment promoted by the Directorate of Social and Solidarity Economy, the Third Sector and Cooperatives, of the Department of Business and Employment of the Generalitat de Catalunya.
