Every year, the organization subsidizes ten environment transformation projects to improve the lives of the people supported by its services, the local areas where they work, and communities in another country, chosen through a vote by its members

At Suara Cooperativa, our mission is to transform the social environment. To make this possible, we are guided by four core pillars: social responsibility, participation, proximity, and innovation. This spirit lies at the very heart of our environment transformation projects.

In line with our commitment to social responsibility, as a non-profit organization we reinvest our surplus back into society. This philosophy inspired the creation of these transformation projects, through which we fund up to ten initiatives across three distinct categories: improving the lives of individuals receiving support from a service, benefiting the local area where members work, or supporting communities in another country.

At Suara Cooperativa, we operate under a horizontal and democratic governance model where members make decisions and actively shape the present and future of the cooperative. Because of this, the transformation projects are embedded in a participatory process. It begins with members voting to select the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that will frame that year's projects. The initiatives currently underway focus on the SDGs of Ending Poverty and Decent Work and Economic Growth.

Furthermore, members submit the project proposals and vote on which initiatives receive funding: 7 for Suara Services, 3 for Suara Environment, and 1 for Suara World.

To uphold our value of proximity, we work for the community alongside the community. That is why local proposals originate directly from the services working on the ground—those who truly understand the local reality—while international proposals are developed in collaboration with the community in that country.

Finally, in a fast-paced technological world, innovation is our fourth core value. We harness it to serve people and bridge social, economic, and digital divides. Consequently, projects that feature social innovation are highly valued during selection.
