The funding will enable us to create a new Residential Educational Care Centre (CRAE) in Barcelona and expand Casal TV, our social innovation project that promotes active ageing and tackles unwanted loneliness among older adults.

At Suara Cooperativa, we continue to promote projects that create a positive impact on people's lives. Thanks to the support of the Social Impact Fund (FIS), managed by COFIDES, we will develop two strategic initiatives that reinforce our commitment to social innovation, care and inclusion: the launch of a new Residential Educational Care Centre (CRAE) in Barcelona and the expansion of Casal TV, our digital support project for older adults.

This €3 million investment will allow us to continue developing innovative care models that put people at the centre and address key social challenges such as child protection, population ageing and unwanted loneliness.

A new CRAE to provide safe environments and opportunities for the future

Part of the funding will be allocated to refurbishing one floor of a building acquired by Suara Cooperativa, which will become a Residential Educational Care Centre (CRAE) with capacity to support 20 children and adolescents under child protection measures.

The new centre will provide comprehensive care based on emotional support, family intervention and personalised follow-up, creating a safe, stable environment that promotes the personal development and wellbeing of the children and young people living there.

Casal TV: social innovation to tackle unwanted loneliness

The second major initiative is the expansion of Casal TV, a social innovation project led by Suara Cooperativa that transforms television into a tool for companionship, participation and wellbeing for older adults.

Through live activities and tailored content, Casal TV encourages social interaction, stimulates physical and cognitive activity, and helps prevent the negative effects of social isolation and sedentary lifestyles. The model enables older people to remain active and connected from their own homes, strengthening both their emotional wellbeing and their autonomy.

The project currently operates in seven municipalities across Catalonia, supporting around 60 participants. This investment will enable us to expand its reach to additional municipalities and other regions of Spain, allowing many more people to benefit from the service.

The project also includes €50,000 in technical assistance to strengthen the training of the professional teams responsible for implementing and expanding Casal TV.

A shared commitment to innovation with impact

The financing agreement was signed by Ángela Pérez, Chairwoman and CEO of COFIDES, and Laura Peracaula, Co-General Director of Suara Cooperativa, at COFIDES headquarters, in the presence of Elena Rodríguez, Secretary General for Inclusion.

Ángela Pérez stated that "this operation reinforces the role of the Social Impact Fund as a tool for supporting projects that combine financial sustainability with measurable social impact", while highlighting Suara Cooperativa's contribution in areas such as child protection, ageing and social innovation.

Laura Peracaula added that "Suara's Governing Board has firmly committed to working with COFIDES as an impact investment fund because its mission is fully aligned with the values and purpose of our cooperative".

Continuing to innovate to improve people's lives

This new milestone enables us to continue developing innovative solutions that combine technology, professional expertise and social support to address both current and future social challenges.

At Suara, we remain committed to ensuring that innovation creates a real impact on people's lives, contributing to a more inclusive, cohesive and care-centred society.
