The 2025 balance sheet presented by the Department of Social Rights shows the growth of the service and consolidates the role of the centers

The Barnahus centers, managed by Suara Cooperativa in El Prat de Llobregat, Girona, and Tortosa, assisted a total of 971 children and adolescents who were victims of sexual violence during 2025. This data is part of the overall report presented by the Department of Social Rights and Inclusion, which puts the total at 3,735.

Overall, the total number of people assisted has increased by 28.9% compared to the previous year, due to the full implementation of the model and greater awareness and trust in the service. The majority of victims assisted are girls (77.1%), and more than half of the cases involved situations occurring within the family, the report highlights.

A coordinated and specialized response from the local level

Specifically, in 2025, the Barnahus center in El Prat de Llobregat handled 525 cases (the second busiest service in Catalonia), Barnahus Girona, 343 cases, and Barnahus Tortosa, 103 cases.

These services demonstrate the positive results achieved with a model of social and healthcare integration, representing a structural shift in addressing sexual violence against children, placing the child at the center and guaranteeing a coordinated response among services.
