The cooperative value of the month of June, social responsibility, invites us to discover it under the slogan “People for a more sustainable world”
In the International Year of Cooperatives, we want to highlight how our model generates a positive and transformative impact for people and the planet. Social responsibility is one of the values that best defines our way of doing things and cooperativism in general: we want to transform our economic activity into a tool to help build a better world.
Social responsibility, at the center
Last January we launched a campaign to highlight a cooperative value each month, which this June we dedicate to social responsibility, that is, those cooperative activities that we carry out to promote the transformation of our societies so that they are more just, equal and sustainable.
Along with proximity, participation and innovation, social responsibility is one of Suara Cooperativa's key values. We understand this social responsibility from an ethical, sustainable and transparent business management is the way to generate positive impacts on our environment and for the common benefit. That is why the motto of Suara Cooperativa's 2024 report is "People for a more sustainable world".
Social responsibility figures
As a non-profit entity, we have reinvested €2,787,421 in social purposes or in strengthening the cooperative to be able to promote social projects. Among these, we have allocated €50,000 in the Environmental Transformation projects, which have been allocated to Suara with the services to reinvest in initiatives linked to projects managed by Suara; Suara a próp, to ideas of territory; and Suara al món, betting on transformation with an international character.
In addition, 2024 closed with an integrated social value of more than 398 million euros, 40% more than 2023. Another key figure is the nearly 153 million euros allocated to specific social value, which takes into account several factors such as job creation, professional development, participation, innovation, training and improving the quality of life of the people served, among others.
At Suara Cooperativa, we are aware that training can transform lives. Thus, in 2024 we allocated a total of 78,585 hours of training to workers and members, 10% more than the previous year.
Throughout 2024, we accompanied 149,360 people -203% more than the previous year-, with a model of care that always puts the person at the center so that they become the true protagonist of their life project through decision-making.
We also have a management model aimed at meeting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and promote environmentally friendly activity. For this reason, this year we have reduced electricity consumption by 26.6% and paper consumption by 3%.
These data are not only indicators, but also tangible proof of a model that puts people and the planet at the center. As the report states, “at Suara Cooperativa we claim the collective strength to provide innovative and transformative responses to the needs of care, education, inclusion and support of people”.
