On the occasion of the International Day of Care, Suara Cooperativa—in collaboration with the University of Barcelona—invites the public to participate in a survey. The goal is to reflect on the role of care in our society and contribute to building a more sustainable welfare model.
Providing care is a part of life. Throughout our lives, we all need care, and at some point, many of us also take on the responsibility of caring for others. Yet, this task—essential for both individual and collective well-being—often remains largely invisible and unrecognized.
To mark the International Day of Care and Support, observed on October 29th, we want to shine a light on this reality and gain a better understanding of how care responsibilities are organized, experienced, and shared in our daily lives.
Who cares for those who provide care?
Who takes on caregiving tasks? What impact do these responsibilities have on personal, family, and professional life? What support systems do caregivers currently have, and what resources would they need to improve their own well-being?
These are some of the questions explored in an anonymous survey, which takes approximately five minutes to complete.
This initiative is part of SUSTAINWELL, a European project coordinated by the University of Barcelona that examines how to move toward a more sustainable welfare model in the face of challenges posed by an aging population. Moving toward a society that recognizes caregiving
Demographic aging and social changes make it increasingly necessary to rethink how we organize care, how we distribute responsibilities, and how we ensure the well-being of both those who need support and those who provide care.
At Suara Cooperativa, we advocate for placing people at the center and recognizing caregiving as a fundamental pillar of society. Listening to the experiences and needs of the public is a necessary step toward developing more equitable, sustainable, and shared models of care.
Get involved: your experience counts
Whether you regularly care for someone else or have had other experiences related to caregiving, your perspective matters.
Participating is simple: the survey is anonymous and takes only about five minutes.
Take the "Caregiving Counts" survey
Because caregiving is essential. And recognizing, listening to, and supporting those who provide care is just as essential.
