Suara Cooperativa has inaugurated a new headquarters in Amposta to strengthen its roots in the Terres de l’Ebre and promote social innovation from the region, in an event attended by Mr David Bonvehí, Director General for Social Economy and Cooperativism of the Government of Catalonia. The new space will host the Social Digital Lab Terres de l’Ebre, a distributed innovation hub open to the community to promote new forms of support, learning and social transformation.

Suara Cooperativa has inaugurated a new headquarters in Amposta, a space from which it will continue to promote projects linked to people’s care, childhood and mental health and which, at the same time, becomes a new strategic point for bringing social innovation closer to the Terres de l’Ebre and the wider Tarragona area.

The new office is intended to be much more than a physical headquarters. Conceived as a space for work, meeting and connection with the region, it aims to foster new ways of supporting people and transforming services through technology, experimentation and collaboration. According to Laia Planagumà, Director of Suara Cooperativa’s Client Area, “the Amposta headquarters was created with the aim of being a living, open and connected space, from which to promote partnerships, share learning and generate new opportunities for the Terres de l’Ebre”.

With this opening, Suara Cooperativa strengthens its roots in the Terres de l’Ebre and across the Tarragona area, while beginning a new stage as a transformative agent, promoting partnerships, innovative projects and new opportunities for the region.

A space to promote social innovation from the region

The new Amposta headquarters will host the Social Digital Lab Terres de l’Ebre, a new innovation space that forms part of Suara Cooperativa’s distributed innovation strategy. This new hub aims to connect technology, region and social transformation, and is conceived as an environment open to the community to promote new forms of intervention, learning and collaboration.

One of the most notable elements of the new facility is the addition of an immersive reality room, where projects and initiatives are being developed to support and promote the emotional well-being and mental health of the people served, professional teams and the wider community.

These innovative experiences are focused on intervention, training and awareness-raising, and will be promoted through Suara Cooperativa’s Social Digital Lab. The new Amposta headquarters is thus part of the cooperative’s commitment to putting innovation at the service of people and regions. As Laia Bonastra, President of Suara Cooperativa, has highlighted, “this new facility combines care, community and innovation, and clearly represents Suara’s model: a project that places people at the centre and aims to generate a real impact in the region”.

According to Josep Maria Borrull, Operations Director of Suara Cooperativa’s Client Area, “the new Amposta headquarters represents Suara’s determination to strengthen its roots in the region and, at the same time, to promote innovative projects from the Terres de l’Ebre that connect technology, people-centred care and social transformation”.

The inauguration event was attended by Mr David Bonvehí, Director General for Social and Solidarity Economy, the Third Sector and Cooperatives, and Mr Adam Tomàs, Mayor of Amposta, as well as regional and institutional representatives and partner organisations, who were able to see the new facilities firsthand at Carrer de Santa Bàrbara, 75, Amposta.

A new stage of commitment to the Terres de l’Ebre

Suara Cooperativa has maintained a strong presence in the Terres de l’Ebre for nearly 20 years, where it manages services and resources linked to care, childhood and mental health. As part of this commitment, work has begun to expand the Terres de l’Ebre Reception Centre, a project that will provide this resource with a new unit to improve care and support for children under guardianship.

The new headquarters, inaugurated today, symbolises the consolidation of this bond with the Tarragona area and, at the same time, the beginning of a new stage for the cooperative. In the words of Jordi Picas, Director of Innovation at Suara Cooperativa, “for years we have acted as managers of services. Now we want to go one step further and become drivers of social transformation in this region, building partnerships, promoting innovative projects and generating new opportunities”.

In this sense, the Amposta headquarters is conceived as a space open to the Ebro region, with the ambition of becoming an institutional and brand reference point and of continuing to project Suara’s commitment to the community.

Innovation at the service of people and regions

Suara Cooperativa’s mission is to transform the social environment in order to improve people’s lives, especially those in more vulnerable situations. Along this path, innovation is one of its core values and a key tool for helping reduce social, digital, economic and territorial gaps.

With this approach, Suara promotes services rooted in the region and developed from within the region as a way to contribute to community transformation. It is now taking a further step by also seeking to put innovation at the service of regions, extending access to technology beyond urban areas and the Barcelona metropolitan area.

The launch of this new innovation hub in the Terres de l’Ebre is part of this commitment and adds to the spaces that Suara Cooperativa already drives in Barcelona, Ponent and Girona.
